What does one think is wisdom?
In Job 28:28, Job is talking about wisdom and understanding, “And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to depart from evil is understanding” (KJV).
The word “fear” in this verse means the reverence of the Lord or the honor or respect that is felt or shown (Merriam-Webster Dictionary) to God. I believe reverence is felt and shown to God. This reverence one has for God, “that is wisdom.”
One of the Hebrew definitions for wisdom in this verse is the word “wit.” “Wit” in the dictionary means “keen intelligence.” Therefore, one implements (or uses for a particular purpose) keen intelligence when you have the fear or reverence felt and shown unto God.
This fear or reverence for God teaches and proves to one to “depart from evil” because to have the keen intelligence to fear God definitely involves having an understanding of the reverence of God, i.e., or simply to have true knowledge or wisdom.
Remember to “Hear instruction (chastisement or correction), and be wise, and refuse it not” (Proverbs 8:33 KJV).
Wisdom or the reverence for God is key to the well being of and in your life!
God Bless You All!
