But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. Luke 8:15 KJV
In this scripture I will concentrate on the following: “bring forth fruit with patience.”
Fruit comes from the Greek word “karpophoreo” or “to be fertile.” One of the Google definitions of fertile is “capable of becoming a new individual.”
As being “on the good ground” one goes through a constant “becoming” of “a new individual” as is “the seed is the word of God.” (v. 11) develops a deeper and deeper understanding of the word or “logos” or in going deeper in one’s image of Christ in one’s life.
One is transformed to be “new” and this happens over time with patience or “waiting” as Jesus brings us into a deeper and deeper understanding of who we are in Christ.
Through our trials and tribulations our ever changing “newness” lays bare our path of an emotionally healing mindset and behavior which gives us joy, peace, and rest — resting in the arms of God within our mindset and behavior.
I am so grateful to be “new” each day as the word plants in me a mindset and a behavior that will last for all eternity. Keep the word in your heart and “bring forth fruit with patience.”
God Bless You All!
