5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. 7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. 8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. Psalm 62:5-8
It takes an inner strength to wait on God’s promises, and our strength is found and lies in Him. He is strong in our weaknesses as he covers us in the shadow of His wings. Our expectation or our hope for our purpose in our lives comes from our attachment or relationship with God.
God is our rock or our Mighty God in that He can carry our burdens released to Him.
He is our salvation and in Him He makes us honorable. He brings us forth out of a bondage and into His retreat, high place, or refuge where we “shall not be moved” (Psalm 62:6) by Him.
We can trust and thus be confident, bold, and secure always as we empty out our minds and thoughts to Him. Our minds and thoughts have refuge and are sheltered in the love of God.
Oh, how he loves us.
