To Offer the Sacrifice of Praise to God and the Sacrifice of Helping Others
In praising God, we “offer to God in homage (loyalty and service) or worship (adoration)…to procure favor…to express thankfulness” through Jesus Christ. We praise God through Jesus Christ because, as such, Jesus gave the ultimate sacrifice through His death and subsequent resurrection, taking the place of all of our sins, tearing down the veil or giving us access to the Father, so we could pay homage, worship, procure favor, and express thankfulness directly to God. We also give of our sacrifices to all in need of help in some form or fashion. To give God the sacrifice of praise through Jesus Christ and to give our sacrifices to others truly is God’s delight. (Quote from Noah Webster 1828 Dictionary)
15 Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name. 15 And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God. Hebrews 13:15-16 NLT (New Living Translation)
